GET ORGANIZED: Closet Makeover
Whether or not getting organized is on your list of New Year’s resolutions, it’s never a bad idea. Sometimes a little organization is all it takes to brighten up your living space and make your home feel more welcoming. Plus, i find when my house is cluttered I start to feel overwhelmed. The closet is generally the area with the biggest potential for mess, making it a great place to begin. Here are a few of the tips I’ve used in my own closet to help you through the process:

1. The Shoeboxes
Let’s start with my favorite part of the closet: the shoes. A few years ago I invested in a set of Closet Fetish Couture Shoeboxes and let me tell you, it made a world of a difference. Whether you own three pairs of shoes or 30, the Couture Shoeboxes are a great solution because they keep your shoes dust-free and have a 4x6 frame on the outside of the box to display a picture of your shoes where you can easily see it. They also come in a variety of fun colors. If taking the photos seems like too much work, however, try Ikea's Skubb shoeboxes, which are a real steal at $9.99 for a four pack.
2. The Hangers
Another little luxury I recommend is investing in a matching set of hangers. It’s easy to end up with a mixed batch over the years, but having the same kind throughout the closet will help your clothes hang more uniformly. If you feel like splurging, flocked velvet hangers like these ones are non-slip, ultra-slim and especially sophisticated looking.
3. Color Coordination
Another trick I’ve learned is to organize your clothes by color. It doesn’t cost a thing and gives your closet a whole new look!
What part of your house is most in need of a little organization?
XO, Denise
