My Casual Airport Style

What to wear on a plane ride is one of the trickiest fashion dilemmas in my opinion. Being comfortable is of the utmost importance, especially if it’s going to be a long flight, but you also don’t want to look too comfortable if you know what I mean. Keep in mind that you’re still in public and not in your bed!

Here’s what I wore on my flight to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. It was important to me that I looked put-together, but that I would still feel relaxed during the almost four-and-a-half hours on board.

My airplane outfit consisted of:

• Black Leggings
• A soft, fitted, long-sleeved tee. When in doubt stick with black for this one too—all black is chic and slimming no matter how casual you’re dressing.
• Black boots
• Comfy socks for if the boots come off. We all want to be comfortable, but revealing your dirty gym socks could be considered impolite to those around you.
• Chic, sturdy luggage. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but make sure it’s clean and doesn’t look like it’s been through a few too many baggage claims.
• A down jacket. Planes rides get cold and it can double as a pillow.
• A hobo bag big enough to fit all of your reading material, snacks and other in-flight distractions.

And here’s how you can get my travel look too:

Have you done any traveling lately?

Here I see the deleted comments are really nasty things written?
I fully agree with you Dennis, clothes should be comfortable and not only if it's a long flight, or other things, but always and everywhere. This will determine your natural behavior, if something goes wrong, something it is not distracting you. And in your case a great decision in choosing clothes :)

I totally agree with you about comfort being important for traveling because you just never know what can happen, especially when children are involved. Great site!

You went thru my 30 year hometown of hotlanta. The only thing better than that city is the way you look in that outfit. Steller.
